CAN WE JUST BLOW IT UP AND LAY IT TO REST?
Hasn't Facebook become basically useless? I thought the basic premise of the platform was to locate people from your past and maybe keep in touch with them in the future. Whatever the premise, I have no need for it. I keep in touch with the people I desire to keep in touch with, and without the help of Facebook.
If you are looking for someone from your past and this person is a male you will have better luck than looking for a female, as females when they marry most times adopt the last name of their husband. Which then makes it almost impossible to find an old female friend. Unless you know their married name.
Nonetheless, Facebook, or more aptly named "Look At Me And What I'm Doing Book" really has become useless as I said before. Some of the other names for Facebook could also be "Look At What I'm Eating Book" or "Look At My Life Compared To Yours Book" or "I Have No Life And I'm Just Posting This Bullshit Just To Make Me Feel Like I Have A Life Book."
However you look at it, the basic original premise is gone. I have in times of extreme boredom or when drinking my coffee in the morning clicked on someone's name I know from the past and visited their profile page. Big mistake. Whatever respect I had for that person went out the window upon seeing all of the shit they post on their page. Who do they think is interested in this shit. If they are a musician they post pics of their instrument or instruments. They post pics of their home studio. They post pics of their car. Why does this happen? Are they looking for some form of validation from others? Does your car define who you are as a person? Are you trying to send a message to others as to how stupid you are for spending so much of your money for a money pit second to owning a boat?
One person posts pics of what he had for lunch, prepared for him by his "Beautiful Wife," on one of the most ugliest of plates and table settings. C'mon, the food looks like shit, the photo looks like shit, and the wife looks like shit. Doesn't this person have anything better to do than take pictures of his lunch?
SUGGESTION:
Go out and buy some nice plates, place mats, and maybe even a new table. Stop with the shitty pics that have no color or composition, and how about making your own lunch rather than relying on your Wife/Mother to do it for you. Be a grown up. By the way, who really eats lunch today anyway. I thought the three a day thing went by the wayside a long time ago. I guess if you have nothing else to do then yeah maybe you can have breakfast before setting out for your nothingless morning, and lunch before setting out for your nothingless afternoon. Be a man! Skip breakfast, snack at lunch and then eat your fucking dinner with said beautiful wife.
Maybe the only thing worse than these people's posts are the comments coming from other bored shitless people who have nothing better to do than comment on these inane asinine posts. Fuck! Is this the best people can do?
"GREAT SHOT, (referring to a photo) you missed your calling as a photographer." No they didn't. It's a shitty photo, shot with a shitty phone camera, and YOU have shitty taste, and are just trying to be positive in a realistically speaking, negative world. Don't be a fake. Stop lying. Tell the truth. The pic has no composition, the camera in your phone sucks, and you have less talent for photography than a dog. Yet everyone lies to you. "Great shot dude." Sorry I don't value our friendship enough to tell you the truth. I'm fake and I live in a fake world.
"LOOKING GOOD," (referring to a selfie they posted) no you're not. You look old and haggard. Why again, don't they tell the truth. "Wow, life has been a little rough on you."
What a sad commentary on life in the world today. Facebook is a complete embarrassment to human life. I never had any faith in, or affinity for human kind anyway, but Facebook takes things down to a new low.
Now, I admit to having a profile page. I don't even remember setting it up. Must have been years ago when I was leaving the country embarking on 5 years of traveling. I did use the messaging to consult with some people about flights, itineraries, and things regarding traveling. It was very helpful, and that's what it should be used for. None of this bullshit that goes on now. I have better things to do with my life. LIKE LIVE IT and Facebook is not living.
IN CLOSING
I hope I haven't hurt or upset anyone with my statements. And if I have, you may be just as sad as the people I referenced posting and commenting on Facebook.
PEOPLE GET A LIFE! Stop being lemmings and sheep. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid. Think for yourself. Stop following the herd. Cut the cord on all of this social media bullshit.
What can we do about Facebook? Stop using it as entertainment, and use it as a tool.
